Suzanne Smart

Suzanne Smart studied at Cardiff University, under the guidance of sopranos Helen Field and Patricia O’Neill, and in Venice where she was taught by American bass Sherman Lowe. She then studied with Miriam Bowen.

Suzie has been singing with Opera Mint Wales since 2006 and is now coordinator for the company. She has sung the roles of Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas) and Adina (L’Elisir d’Amoré) for Opera Mint, as well as chorus for its productions of Semele and L’Elisir d’Amoré.

Other roles that Suzie has performed have included Princess Mandane (Artaserse) for the Società Farinelli in Venice and Casilda (The Gondoliers).

Suzie’s oratorio experience includes Kodaly’s Missa Brevis (for Canton Chorus), Saint-Saens Oratorio de Noël, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem and Mozart’s Requiem.

Suzie also runs a French and Italian translation business.
